Welcome to the Town of Brooklyn, Connecticut's website. The last few years, Brooklyn has witnessed a substantial amount of growth. Perhaps it is because of our 17 miles of scenic byways along Route 169; or our landmarks and rich history with Israel Putnam; or world-class school system; or our proximity to several major New England cities or perhaps it's just the great quality of life we all share with one another in Brooklyn.

It's hard to tell with so many new people moving into town these days - many people have told me it is because we are so close to other states and they can have large lots with lower costs and lower taxes compared to other regions or towns.

Either way, Brooklyn is at a crossroads, consistently striving to maintain it's rural charisma and atmosphere while keeping an eye to the future.

Brooklyn's town hall staff leaves you with a friendly feeling. The recreation programs are rapidly growing due to the successful leadership of our director and board. The school system is continually trying to upgrade it's programs and facilities - recognizing the need to plan for a new high school in the near future.
